Vince Bonfanti is President and co-founder of New Atlanta Communications, LLC. Founded in 1997, New Atlanta creates server-based software products built using Java EE and Microsoft .NET Framework technologies. New Atlanta's current products include ServletExec, a Java Servlet and Java Server Pages (JSP) engine for Microsoft IIS and Apache web servers; and, BlueDragon, a ColdFusion-compatible web application server that allows native deployment and integration of CFML applications onto ASP.NET and Java EE servers.
Vince is also the original creator of Lasso, a CGI-based scripting language and runtime for web publishing of FileMaker Pro databases. In 1997, Lasso technology was sold to FileMaker, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apple Computer, Inc., to become the FileMaker Pro 4.0 Web Companion.

BEA licenses BlueDragon for WebLogic

BEA has just announced that they've licensed BlueDragon to resell with their WebLogic J2EE server; New Atlanta has also published a press release on this. Here are the relevant details:

  • Together with BEA, we've created a rebranded version of BlueDragon/J2EE called BlueDragon, BEA WebLogic Edition, which can be downloaded from BEA's web site.

  • BlueDragon, BEA WebLogic Edition is being sold and supported by BEA as a BEA product.

  • If you're a WebLogic customer, or are considering becoming a WebLogic customer, and are interested in learning more about BlueDragon, BEA WebLogic Edition, please contact your BEA sales representative.
This is a significant milestone for BlueDragon, as it is now being sold and supported by one of the world's leading enterprise software companies. Coupled with last year's announcement that MySpace.com--the world's largest CFML-based web site, and one of the most heavily trafficked web sites in the world--is running on BlueDragon.NET, it's clear that BlueDragon has emerged as a legitimate alternative to Adobe ColdFusion for any CFML application in any organization of any size anywhere in the world.

If you're a WebLogic customer currently running CFML applications, you need to call your BEA sales representative today or visit BEA's web site to learn more about BlueDragon, BEA WebLogic Edition.
